Collection Value

How Value Is Calculated

ToolDB calculates your total collection value by summing the Purchase Price field across all tools and batteries. This appears on:

• The Analytics summary card
• The Export page collection summary

Getting an Accurate Value

For the most useful valuation:

• Enter purchase prices for all tools, even estimates
• Include batteries — they add up fast
• Update prices if you know the current replacement cost
• Don’t forget accessories and attachments logged as separate tools

What’s Not Included

• Tools without a purchase price are counted in your tool total but excluded from the value calculation
• The “With Price” count on the Export page tells you how many items have prices entered

Your total collection value helps you:

• Know if you need additional insurance coverage
• Understand your investment in tools
• Make informed decisions about upgrading or replacing
• Provide documentation to insurance companies
