ToolDB is currently free during the beta period. Paid plans with additional features will be available in the future.

Yes. ToolDB works on iPhone, Android, tablet, and desktop. On mobile you can scan barcodes and take photos directly. On desktop you can manage your collection in detail.

You can add ToolDB to your home screen for a native app experience — see Creating Your Account.

When adding a tool, tap Scan UPC. Allow camera access when prompted, then point your camera at the barcode on the tool or its packaging.

Yes. ToolDB does not sell your data or serve ads. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Yes. ToolDB supports CSV import. See Importing from CSV for details.

A tool is missing from the catalog. What do I do?

You can add any tool manually. The ToolDB catalog is open and community-maintained at github.com/ej-systems/tooldb — contributions welcome.

When you add a warranty expiry date, ToolDB emails you before that date. Configure timing in Settings. See Setting Up Alerts for details.

Yes. ToolDB has a dedicated Batteries section with fields for voltage, capacity, and battery platform. See Managing Batteries.

Open the tool’s detail page and tap Lend Tool. Enter the person’s name and tap Lend. When they return it, tap Mark Returned. See Lending Tools.

All data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Export your collection first. See Deleting Your Account.

ToolDB is built by EJ Systems LLC. The tool database is open source under the ODbL license.
